Circle of Neighbors

This 20 year old service organization was founded by Tom Lloyd who, as the father of four children himself, found that there was an enormous lack of information available to parents regarding the mysterious process of higher education.

With over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, Tom understands the problems parents and students face when starting to navigate through this daunting process.  He also experienced the disappointment when a parent was unable to save enough to pay the growing tuition fees dictated by institutions throughout the United States.

He vowed to learn how one child could get admitted to a prestigious college or university with little or no expense and another could go without -- regardless of financial need!

His two oldest of his four children have now graduated from college with their chosen degrees.  Tom's total outlay was well under $5000 for both to attend a four year schedule.  One graduated from University of Arizona in Tucson, AZ where Circle of Neighbors membership services is based and the other from Loyola University in New Orleans named one of the 2004 Best Colleges by US News..

Many people have told Tom, I wish I would have known this when I went to school.  Tom shares his no-nonsense no-gimmick approach of financial guidance with his members through a number of materials.

  • His over 180 page POWER OF WORKING TOGETHER workbook provides a “blueprint for success” in college career planning.
  • Career Planning guidance refines and narrows the student’s career interest through research and analysis of potential occupations.
  • We contact colleges which match the student's personality, qualifications and interests on your behalf with letters of introduction.
  • ACT/SAT test preparation acquaints the student with the "Achievement Tests" and provides the means to analyze the student's strengths and weaknesses using a diagnostic worksheet.
  • The College Visitation Guide provides a question and answer checklist for families and students to prepare for and use to organize what you learn during these college visits helping to prioritize colleges for final choice.
  • Our College Admissions Guide helps the family to better organize a successful admissions campaign to achieve the student's ultimate goal of being accepted to the college of choice.
  • A Scholarship Search Guide provides the family with the ability to conduct their own local scholarship search and gain Internet access to a national database through our web site.
  • The organization helps families reduce the Expected Family Contribution number to the lowest possible level.
  • The Member Services department assists the family with the completion of the Federal and institutional financial aid forms to help make certain the student qualifies for all available aid.
  • Circle of Neighbors teaches a unique negotiation strategy that will position your student for the most financial aid through a series of highly effective strategies and techniques.
  • The Member Services consultant will provide sources for funding any gaps through qualified sources for funds, both Federally sponsored and private.

Take time to visit with one of our representatives and you'll learn more about the college experience than you ever thought was available -- even if you "lived" through the process yourself.
